Dr. Andrew Akerman is an established Radiologist currently serving patients with Telemed America, serving multiple states including Florida. Dr. Akerman has been in practice for over a decade, and features a special expertise in neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, and the diagnosis and characterization of abnormalities of the central and peripheral nervous system, spine, head, and neck using neuroimaging techniques. At the age of 16, Dr. Akerman sustained a C6 spinal cord injury, which rendered him quadriplegic. The only quadriplegic in the country attending medical school at the time, Dr. Akerman graduated with his Medical Degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He subsequently completed his 4 year residency in Diagnostic Radiology from North Shore University Hospital, followed by his sub-specialty fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Akerman is certified by the American Board of Radiology, and remains a distinguished member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, allowing him to stay current with the latest advances in his field. Moreover, he has served as a Forensic Radiology Expert Witness for both Plaintiff and Defense on a variety of Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury and Product Liability cases. He is available for Expert Radiographic Consultation, including the review of radiographic imaging studies, medical records and depositions, as well as providing deposition and trial testimony. Dr. Akerman has dedicated his life to providing the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to his patients, and attributes his success to his determination and perseverance.
