Q: What are acceptable blood pressure levels?

A: Acceptable is really a spectrum. It is becoming well established that single office-based measurements are not the ideal and that an ongoing log or ambulatory blood pressure monitor for a day or two is the best way to know how well blood pressure controlled. The latest guidelines from 2014 set blood pressure goals at 140/90 for those under 60 and 150/90 for those over 60.
